Scholarships and Exhibitions

Academic Scholarships

Entry into the Sixth Form (Year 12): The School awards Academic Scholarships to pupils entering the Sixth Form (Year 12). 

Entry into the Third Form (Year 7): The School awards Academic Scholarships to those entering the Third Form (Year 7). 

All applicants to the School will sit an entrance examination and, depending on their performance in the examination, will be interviewed. To be eligible for an Academic Scholarship applicants must perform outstandingly well in the entrance process.

All Academic Scholarships will be for 10% of the tuition fee and are not subject to subsequent financial assessment.

Music Scholarships

Entry into the Sixth Form (Year 12): The School awards Music Scholarships to pupils entering the Sixth Form (Year 12). Applicants for a Music Scholarship in the Sixth Form are expected to have the minimum of a Grade VII pass, or equivalent,

Entry into the Third Form (Year 7): The School awards Music Scholarships to those entering the Third Form (Year 7). Applicants for a Music Scholarship in Third Form should generally have the minimum of a Grade V distinction.

All Music Scholarships will be for 10% of the tuition fee and are not subject to subsequent financial assessment. In addition Music Scholars will receive free tuition for one instrument from a teacher employed by the School.

Mitchell Music Scholarship

In addition to the Music Scholarships described above, the School may also offer one Mitchell Music Scholarship, which is equal to 10% of the tuition fee and which may be cumulated with a standard music scholarship. In contrast to such standard music scholarships, the Mitchell Music Scholarship is means-tested and, consequently, applicants for the Mitchell Music Scholarship will be asked to provide some limited financial disclosure in support of their application in addition to meeting the entry requirements applying to other Music Scholarships described above.

Music Exhibitions

Entry into the Sixth Form (Year 12): The School awards Music Exhibitions to pupils entering the Sixth Form (Year 12). 

Entry into the Third Form (Year 7): The School awards Music Exhibitions to those entering the Third form (Year 7). 

Music Exhibitions are awarded by the Head Mistress through the Music Scholarship procedure to recognise musical achievement that falls just short of scholarship standard. Parents may not apply specifically for an Exhibition. All Music Exhibitions will be for 7.5% of the tuition fee and are not subject to financial assessment.

Art Scholarship

The School awards one Art Scholarship to a pupil entering the sixth form (Year 12) who seeks to study A level Art & Design. The Art Scholarship will be for 10% of the tuition fee and is not subject to financial assessment. In addition, the Art Scholar will receive free membership to agreed London galleries and will be invited to produce some design work for the School over the course of their two years as a Sixth Form Art Scholar.

Sport Scholarships

The School offers up to two Sports Scholarships to pupils already at the School and who enter the Sixth Form. Sports Scholarships will be for 10% of the tuition fee and are not subject to financial assessment.

Drama Scholarship

The School awards one Drama Scholarship to a pupil entering the sixth form (Year 12).  The Drama Scholarship is likely to go to an applicant who is planning to take A level Theatre Studies, but this is not a requirement. The successful candidate would be expected to make a substantial contribution to the extra-curricular performance programme. The Drama Scholarship will be for 10% of the tuition fee and is not subject to financial assessment. In addition, the Drama Scholar will receive complimentary Individual Speech and Drama lessons and complimentary tickets to all 6th Form Theatre trips.
