Salamanca - UV Spanish Study Trip
On 8th February, 15 chicas y 2 profesoras set out for Salamanca, for 6 days of fun, food and flamenco. After a flight to Madrid and coach journey to Salamanca through snowy mountains, we were all eager to meet our host families, and launch into a week of Spanish culture. The following day, we enjoyed our morning lessons, and then were guided around the city, learning about its hidden treasures and intriguing history. In particular we found the frog especially interesting as it was a symbol of good luck embedded into the architecture. ¡Qué interesante!
One of our favourite activities during this trip was the flamenco class in which we were taught many styles of dance by a professional “bailarina”. On the Sunday, which is traditionally a family day in Spain, we visited the Casa Lis art gallery, and also went to the cinema to watch Coco, improving our Spanish as we followed the plot. However, we can all safely say that one of the main enjoyments of the trip was the food: chocolate con churros for breakfast, menú del día for lunch and a tapas tour all night long. For our last night we all indulged in a farewell paella dinner which was delicious and a great way to end a great trip.
