The weekend of 17th November saw the first of the Great Britain trials for this season. The school sent two girls to Boston for the trials, Celia (J18) and Lizzie (J17), who both completed the tough 5km course in their single sculls. The results were very encouraging with Celia finishing 7th and Lizzie finishing 23rd out of the 90 girls trialing. This is the first trial and the girls will be looking to improve upon their results when they return to Boston in February next year.
Whilst Celia and Lizzie were up at trials, the J16 squad were racing at Teddington Head. We raced a four of Natasha, Emma, Darcie, Helen & Ruby (all J16) in Junior fours and despite racing up an age category against older crews, they finished 2nd, a second behind the winners. We also raced an eight of Olivia (J17), Eliza (J18), Clemency, Sophie, Claudia, Michelle, Georgie, Kirstin & Georgie in the women’s beginner category, where they came out triumphant winning by over 2 minutes.
Well done all a good weekend of results.
