Rowing Report - April 2018
Junior Inter-Regional Regatta
On 21st April, LEHBC headed to Nottingham to race at the Junior Inter-Regional Regatta, representing Thames London. The J14 double of Dani (UIVX) and Katherine (UIVL) raced very well, winning the B final by clear water and placing 7th in the country. The J16 quad of Darcie (UVQ), Emma (UVR), Helen (UVP) and Flo (UVP) raced brilliantly to come 3rd in the A final against some top end opposition.
On 22nd April, Celia (UVIH) and Lizzie (LVIG) braved horrendous conditions at the GB Rowing Regatta, putting in excellent performances to finish 3rd and 16th respectively. This should set them up well for the further trialling still to come later in the year.
On 28th, the J15 squad travelled into London to race at Hammersmith Regatta. The 2nd 8+ raced very well, beating Emmanuel in their first round before narrowly losing to Latymer in the semi-final. A last minute crew change meant that the 1st 8+ were treated to Jack’s high performance coxing skills. They raced hard, powering their way to victory, beating Latymer in the final on their home water.
Well done to everyone that raced.
