National Schools Regatta
LEHBC had 55 girls racing over the three days of National Schools. On the Friday, the J14 squad raced in two octuples and a quad. The quad raced really well against some tough opposition, just missing out on progressing from the time trial. The 'A' and 'B' octuples made it through to their respective B-finals, finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively.
On Saturday the J15, J16 and Senior squads were in action in eights and a Senior coxed four. The J15 1st eight finished 4th, with the 2nd eight winning the silver medal in the 2nd eights' event. The J16 1st eight won silver, with the 2nd eight winning the B-final by almost 20 seconds.
The Senior coxed four finished 4th in the B-final and the 1st eight also finished 4th in the final of Girls' Championship Eights.
The J16 and Senior squads were back in action on the Sunday, with two J16 pairs finishing 5th in the A-final and 2nd in the B-final, and the J16 quad winning the C-final. Gemma and Catherine (UVI) won a bronze medal in a thrilling race in Girls' Championship Pairs, almost overhauling a junior world champion from Molesey in the final. The regatta was rounded off with a fantastic results for the Girls' Championship Coxless Four of Lizzie (LVI), Katie (UVI), Celia (UVI) and Emma (UVI), who won gold in the Colts Cup event.
