Goswell Science Lecture Series with Dr Emily Grossman
On 11 October we were delighted to welcome Dr Emily Grossman to LEH, who came to speak to the Sixth Form about “How to build a human”. This was the second in a series of Science Lectures, kindly supported by the Goswell Family.
Dr Grossman is an expert in molecular biology and genetics, with a Double First in Natural Sciences from Queens' College Cambridge and a PhD in cancer research. Dr Grossman is a science communicator and she is an advocate for women in STEM. She is best known as a resident expert on ITV’s The Alan Titchmarsh Show, Discovery Channel’s How Do They Do It? and Sky1's fact-based celebrity panel-show Duck Quacks Don't Echo hosted by Lee Mack, for her appearances on BBC2’s Second Opinion and many news programmes, and for her fun science YouTube videos for BBC Britlab and The Royal Institution. You can find out more about her here: https://www.emilygrossman.co.uk/.
Her fascinating talk was much enjoyed by pupils and staff, and the occasion was make special by the presence of Kay Goswell, whose generosity has allowed us to run this inspiring series of lectures.
