Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre
On 15th November, 15 girls from LVI & UVI visited three sites in Leicestershire to enrich their knowledge and understanding of the historical period relating to King Richard III’s reign. They are currently studying Shakespeare’s play as part of their A level English Literature studies and looking for a broadening range of interpretations for one of England’s more controversial monarchs. Students were given an expert guide around the Battle of Bosworth site, which also included some dressing up(!), a tour of the new King Richard III Exhibition in Leicester, which includes the site of the discovery of the body in 2012; and finally, Leicester Cathedral, where the King’s remains were finally interred in March 2015.
