Last Thursday (21st Nov) was an exciting afternoon of LV Inter-House Netball. Great to see everyone on the courts getting behind their house. Congratulations to our overall winners, De Vere, with Holles coming in second.

After school on Thursday, our 1st Lacrosse team took part in the Greater London Indoor Lacrosse Tournament at St Paul's Girls School. After a rocky start in our first match against Putney the team rallied and went from strength to strength in their next matches four matches, winning all of these in style. Tied on points with St Pauls, unfortunately goal difference meant we just missed out on a win. As disappointing as the result was the girls should be incredibly proud of the resilience they showed and this bodes well for the rest of the season.

The U12ABC Netball teams also hosted a friendly against Grey Court on Thursday. It was great to see all their hard work in practise paying off on the courts with wins for all our teams.

On Friday we had 16 U16, U14, U12 attend the Richmond School Sport Partnership Cross Country Championship at Richmond on what was a very wet and cold afternoon. We had strong performances from all our girls. A special mention goes to Daya (Y8 & Y9) and Eloise (Y10 & Y11) who won their age categories.

Last Saturday was a busy weekend for Lacrosse. The 1st took part in England Lacrosse Challenge Cup; a tournament made up of the top 8 teams in the country. After a rough start, narrowly losing to Wycombe Abbey 6 – 7, captains Katie and Cat motivated the team and the team set out to battle for 5th place against Bedford High. LEH jumped out to an early lead and despite a late rally by Bedford LEH held on and won 11 - 9. Well done to the whole team, including our statisticians!

On the same day, our 2nd and 3rd Lacrosse teams took part in the Abbott’s Hill invitational 2nd Team tournament. The 3rd team had a tough draw against some talented 2nd teams and narrowly missed out on a couple wins by one goal. The 2nd team turned in a brilliant performance coming top of their pool; this qualified them for the final against STABS. It was a closely contested match that came down to the final seconds and unfortunately; they didn’t quite get the win, walking away with Silver medals. Massive well done to both teams for showing real heart, hustle and determination!

This week was a busy one for Netball, although Monday’s away game to Kingston Grammar school for our U18AB was cancelled due heavy afternoon rainfall.

Later that day, it was dry enough for our U16AB to host Grey Court players. The U16A team showed great resilience and determination to take home a big win. The U16B fought to the end but came away short of only 2 goals. Well done to both teams. On Tuesday, the U13AB welcomed Grey Court at home once again– we had two very competitive and fun games and while they were a strong side, we came out on top in both games. Thanks to Grey Court for 3 days of great friendly games.

On Wednesday, the U14A,B,C and D had 4 very competitive games of Netball at home to St Pauls girls. Exciting to see an improvement being made in their play so quickly into the year. Well done to all.

A special Congratulations to Alice (U12) who has been selected for the 2020 junior ESSKIA squads.

We are hosting nearly 400 Lacrosse players this Saturday against Berkhamsted School. Let’s hope the weather is kind and wishing all our teams the best of luck.
