On 28 February, the Under 11A Netball team took part in the IAPS Regional Netball Tournament held at Cranleigh School.

In the group stages, the team won their first match against Downsend 2-0. A tougher game with Cranleigh Prep finished in a 4-4 draw. The last game against St George’s Weybridge tested the team and the game finished with a 2-8 loss.

This meant we just missed out in playing in the Cup Tournament but progressed through in 3rd place to the Plate Tournament. Here we met Edgeborough. After full time, the score was tied 1-1 but after and tough battle and showing great determination, LEH scored in extra time to win 2-1.

In the semi-finals, LEH played Coworth-Flexlands. Despite leading 3-1 in the first half, some great shooting meant that we finished with a 3-4 loss.

Although disappointed, the team regrouped and focused, determined to win a medal! In the battle for 3rd place, we played Portsmouth Grammar School. The team really demonstrated their skills, team work and commitment to dominate the game and win 4-1.

I am very proud of all the team. They have been a delight to coach and were a credit to the school. Thank you to Mrs Cowin for helping on the day and to the parents for their enthusiastic support! Congratulations to all the team: Zunaira (UIIH) (Captain), Kiki (UIIH), Maya H (UIIH), Samrath (UIIH), Holly (UIIH), Martha (UIID), Jia Ying (UIIH), Lizzie (UIIH), Grace (UIIH) and Emma (UIID).
