On 31 January, we were delighted to welcome celebrity Chef and Restaurateur James Tanner, best known for his TV appearances on Ready, Steady, Cook and Saturday Kitchen, to school. In the morning he visited the Junior School to talk about the importance of fruit and vegetables. He then inspired the LVI Hampton and LEH students in their Cooking for University joint enrichment session. Here he demonstrated how to prepare a delicious Risotto and Winter Bean casserole for them to taste and add to their repertoire of recipes. In the afternoon he returned to the Food and Nutrition Department again this time to give the GCSE pupils a masterclass in filleting fish, a high-level practical skill that is now included in the GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition specification.
