It was an exciting week at the start of March when we welcomed guest speaker Preeti Virdee, rugby journalist and former LEH pupil, to share in our World Book Day and International Women’s Day celebrations on 5th March. Preeti shared some entertaining tales of her time at LEH as well as titles from some of her favourite authors including JK Rowling, Enid Blyton and Philip Pullman. She also spoke to the UIIs and shared with them some of her knowledge and experiences of being editor-in-chief of her rugby magazine.

No sooner had assembly finished than we were ready to welcome Tales from Moon Lane to set up for our annual Book Fair. This is always a very popular event in the Junior School with plenty of interesting books on offer including a wide range of new novels like The Explorer, The School for Good and Evil and The Stormkeeper's Island to name a few.

In traditional celebration of World Book Day on 7th March, the girls (and teachers) came to school dressed as characters from a whole range of stories. Everyone looked fabulous in the World Book Day playground parade from Mildred Hubble to Mary Poppins; Gangsta Granny to Matilda. A good time was had by all!

Thank you to Mrs Deverson and Mrs Evans for all their great ideas and hard work in organising our book themed week.
