Maggie, Mina, Alice and Orla (all in LIVU) entered the IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemists) IYPT (International Year of the Periodic Table) Nobelium competition in the summer term (wow, chemists do love an acronym!). In order to enter, they had to pass an online chemistry quiz about the elements of the Periodic Table and then submit their entry to the competition, which was to ‘share their passion and creativity about Chemistry with the world community’ in any way they wanted. You can see their winning entry here and below. Their prize is an official IUPAC IYPT Periodic Table, personally signed by Frances Arnold, who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry last year. Congratulations to the group on their achievement!
