The first half term has been fantastically busy and as a department we are very excited by the future prospects of the students’ sporting prowess and their potential to be success.

On Thursday 10th October, the 4 fearsome LEH houses took to the lacrosse pitch for an epic battle to see who would take home the crown of L5 House Lax Champs! Special mention to Fitzwilliam who had the largest pool of players to choose from, Holles for the best show of House spirit in their House attire and to De Vere for soldiering on despite being thin on the groups with subs. After 3 rounds of entertaining lacrosse the results are in...

4th Place De Vere

3rd Place Tyrconnel

2nd Place Holles

1st Place Fitzwilliam

On Friday, the U14B Netball team played at Waldegrave in the District Tournament. They finished 6th overall and displayed some fantastic netball throughout the day.

On Saturday, the LEH Lacrosse teams faced a familiar foe in Guildford High School. As the rain fell the LEH lacrosse players worked hard, persevered and demonstrated excellent resilience in the face of tough competition and unkind weather conditions. The results were promising and an improvement from the previous GHS fixture with 2 wins, 4 loses and 4 draws. Well done to all who played.

We also had two netball teams at the County Prelims away at Hammersmith. Both teams played brilliantly and the U18A came second and are now through to the County finals. The U16s came in a solid third but sadly just missed out on going through.

On the water, the Senior rowing squad raced at the Pairs Head of the River, racing from Chiswick to Hammersmith. This is the same stretch of river as the Schools' Head in March, so provided invaluable experience. Hannah and Emma came 3rd overall, and LEH had 5 crews in the top 20 which bodes well for the depth of strength in the squad.

On Monday of this week we welcomed Surbiton High School’s U16A & U16B for a Netball friendly and on Wednesday U14s hosted The Godolphin & Latymer School. All our teams played really well and demonstrated consistent progress from their previous fixtures.

We hope the girls enjoy their half term break and we look forward to a busy rest of the year.
