Weekly Sports Highlights - Week 21
  • Sport

Last Saturday the U13C Lacrosse players were due to compete in the Coloma Cup. This was however cancelled due to ongoing wet weather.

This week’s sports fixtures started with home and away Netball games vs Latymer Upper. Our U18A & U16A travelled to Hammersmith where they learnt some valuable lessons that the players can now work on in training.

U18B & U16B played at home to Latymer with great netball played by all. There were two solid wins for LEH.

On Tuesday, we had over 350 gymnasts from IIIs, LIV, UIV and Junior and Senior Gym Squad perform to the hits of Queen at our “We will Rock You” Gym Display. Despite the torrential rain, we had a full house. The gymnasts all did themselves proud and there were lots of smiling faces on the night from both parents and performers! Huge well done to all who were involved in putting on this big show.

Despite a late night home after the Gym Display, the U14A-D netballers travelled to Notting Hill & Ealing High School on Wednesday after school. There was a good mix of results and lots of great netball skills displayed.

We had six senior gymnasts and three junior gymnasts perform at the BSGA London Regional Acrobatics and Tumbling Competition in Sutton on Wednesday. Huge congratulations to Polina and Scarlett who qualified for the Nationals in Tumbling. Another special mention goes to Holly & Zara for placing second in the Pairs Competition.

We also hosted the Borough Netball tournament on Wednesday welcoming 16 Netball teams. Well done to the organisers, Grey Court who won the tournament.

Some fantastic netball from our U12B team who finished 2nd overall.

We have a busy few days ahead assuming all competitions remain in place. The U12 & U13 swimmers compete in the London League North Final, with our U18 swimmers going to the Bath Cup. We have a busy Lacrosse weekend planned with our U12s and U13s competing in the County Tournament hosted by LEH. The rescheduled Nationals for U18B&Cs takes place this Sunday at St Swithun’s. The very best of luck to all!
