Weekly Sports Highlights - Week 20
  • Sport

It has been another busy week for our players, despite the challenges of a very wet start to March.

The players faced a tough opposition against a strong Guildford Netball U12s at home last Thursday 27th February. Some great skill was shown and they came away with plenty to work on.

We then had a scheduled four day Lacrosse Nationals Tournament held in Aldershot. Sadly a huge amount of rainfall before the tournament meant that the U18B, U18C, U13A were postponed which was hugely disappointing after all their preparation. The U18A, U15A and U14A managed to go ahead on some of the drier pitches. All the players fought their hardest and showed excellent skill, heart, resilience and fight!   On Sunday, the 1st team made it to the Championship Division but got knocked out in the Final 16. On Monday, the U15s won their pool, made it through the final 16 but got knocked out in the quarter finals (top eight in the country). Tuesday saw the U14s win their pool, make it through to final 16, make it through quarter finals, and then were knocked out in semi-finals (top four in the country).

All the players fought their hardest and showed excellent skill, heart, resilience and fight! The future is promising for Lacrosse at LEH!

The rescheduled U18B, U18C tournament will take place at St Swithun’s on Sunday 15th March. We are still waiting to hear about the U13As.

Meanwhile at home on Monday, our U13C-Fs played some fantastic netball against Godolphin & Latymer School, who proved to be a tough opposition. All our players showed strong resilience and a particular mention to the U13E who had a fantastic win.

Wednesday was a real washout weather wise and we sadly had to postpone Thirds House Netball. We are hoping to be able to reschedule this. We also had to cancel the U15AB, U14AB Netball matches against Godolphin & Latymer School.

We did manage to travel to Surbiton despite it being a very wet evening for the U18A & U16A Netballers as they played a tough opposition. Despite the weather conditions, the players showed great skill and determination. Well done to all.
