Weekly Sports Highlights - Week 19

We hope you all had a relaxing half term. Just before we broke up, we had Borough Tournament Trampolining that took place on the Friday 14th. We hosted St Catherine’s Twickenham. They placed first, with LEH coming second.

Frustratingly the rowers were unable to get on the river at all over half term due to the high water level. They have been keeping up their land training with the hope of getting back on the water as soon as is feasible.

We have started the second half of this term with a busy week;

On Monday the senior 1st, 2nd  and U16’s played netball against Goldophin and Latymer. They were fantastically close contested games. Unfortunately the 1st lost by 1 goal along with close losses for the 2nd’s and U16’s. Great play by all.

On Tuesday, the Thirds House Lacrosse Teams took to the pitch for their first House Lacrosse Tournament. The skills on display were impressive (the half term workouts paid off!) and the spirit and enthusiasm electrified the atmosphere. In the Team 2 tournament, Fitzwilliam took home the glory with a 1st place finish followed by, De Vere, Holles and Tyrconnel. In the Team 1 competition, it was De Vere who won the day with Tyrconnel coming runners-up and Holles and Fitzwilliam finishing 3rd and 4th respectively. Congratulations to all pupils who took part - the future of lacrosse is looking bright for LEH!

The very dark clouds and torrential afternoon rain cleared just in time to host Surbiton High School for the U13AF Netball on Tuesday. Whilst the As & Bs lost to a strong opposition, well done to the C, D, E & Fs who won all their games.

On Wednesday our LIV’s played in their annual house netball competition. It was great to see so many people on court playing some fantastic netball. There was great camaraderie from all forms with great support on and off court. Each house had three teams. Overall winners were Tyrconnel, with Holles and DeVere not far behind leaving Fitzwilliam in fourth place. Well done to everyone who played on a sunny but bitterly cold morning.

Our U12A-F netballers were home to Guildford last night – results of this will be reported on next weeks review.

We would like to wish the U18ABC, U15A, U14A & U13A the best of luck at the Lacrosse Nationals at Aldershot on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday next!

Our gymnasts are also busy perfecting their routines for our Gym Display for Tuesday 10th March. Some tickets are still available from the following link; https://www.trybooking.co.uk/10728
