Weekly Sports Highlights - Week 18

Last Thursday our U12 up to Seniors swimmers hosted a gala against St Catherine’s Twickenham. It was our first gala using the Touchpads that were kindly donated by the Friends of LEH. There was great swimming from both schools.

On the weekend we hosted another Super Saturday where we welcomed 12 Lacrosse teams and 14 Netball teams. With this being the final Lacrosse fixture for all teams leading up to Nationals, all our players started strong and worked hard to put their practice into their matches. Special mention to U15A, U13B and U12 Black teams who brought home the win!

The netball was highly competitive and great skill and team work displayed by all. LEH were victorious in 10 out of our 14 matches. It was so lovely to see so many students playing fantastic netball. We look forward to the return fixture next year. Well done, to all those who played.

On Sunday the L4’s competed at the South of England Indoor Rowing Championships in Abingdon. 7 pupils won medals in their respective divisions; one gold, three silvers and three bronzes, and we also won gold in the team relay event. We also hosted the BSGA Regional Competition over the whole weekend with 12 schools competing. We had 6 of our own gymnasts competing on the Sunday. All the pupils should be proud of their performances and take away valuable experience for future competitions.

On Monday we were due to host the first of two weekly fixtures against St Pauls for our U12A-F Netballers. The weather was wild due to the tail end of Storm Ciara and we had to sadly cancel in the end.

Our U13’s played against Notting Hill and Ealing High School on Tuesday. Our A-E’s won all their games playing some brilliant netball.

On Wednesday our U15A&B Netballers were away to Surbiton HS. We played some fast netball but Surbiton were the stronger players on the night.

Our U14A-D were home to St Pauls on the same evening. All teams demonstrated an improvement in performance under pressure and court craft. Congratulations to all those who played.

Yesterday we had over 40 girls participate in House Trampolining at novice, intermediate and advanced level. There was great inter-house support and the results will be published after half term.

We had nine trampolinists taking part today in the Borough Trampolining Tournament at LEH. Results from this will be posted after half-term.

A notice from our PE schedule after half term; we have rearranged the L4 inter-house Netball which will now be on Wednesday 26th Feb (Week A) Periods 1+2.

We would like to wish everyone a lovely half-term and look forward to an action-packed second half to the term.
