What a week we have had with Sport at LEH this week! Last Thursday we travelled to Harrow to compete in the Middlesex Cross Country Championships with our U12, U14 & U16 with very strong performances from all involved. Special well done goes to Daya who came 2nd in the U14 category, Anushka and Eloise who both came 6th in the U12 and U16 event. Huge well done to all of those involved.

On Saturday last, LEH played host for the rescheduled U19 South Schools Lacrosse tournament. This tournament included the top teams from the South of England, including the National Champions from last year. Our 1st team had a tough section to get through and despite some ups and downs, they managed to come 2nd, which qualified them for the Cup semi-final against Guildford High. LEH jumped out to an early lead and although Guildford tried to stage a late comeback it was not enough and LEH went through to the final where they faced reigning National Champs Berkhamstead. The team battled hard and showed great resilience, but it was not to be our day and they finished in 2nd place. Huge well done to all the members of the first team.

We also welcomed St Mary’s Ascot for our U14, U15 & U16s netball teams. Great performances from both teams but notable wins for our U14B & U15A&Bs - well done to all the students who took part. Thanks to St Marys Ascot for the matches.

On Sunday we had a small number of the LEH fencing squad who went to The Surrey Youth Championships at Whitgift School. The student’s had a long but great day competing. We came home with 4th in the U14 category, 3rd in the U16 category and 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the U19 category! Well done to all the LEH Fencers.

On Monday we were due to host Notting Hill & Ealing for all our U12 netball teams but sadly due to the pouring rain, we had to cancel this fixture.

On Tuesday it was great to see our five U13 teams out against St George’s Weybridge, where we had some great results. A special mention goes out to the U13A, D & E teams for winning their matches.

LIV & UIV House netball was due to take place on Wednesday morning but our courts were too icy so we had to postpone. UIV has been rescheduled for this Friday afternoon. We will report back on House results next week. LIV House netball date is still to be confirmed.

On Wednesday afterschool, we had three very competitive matches against NHES for the U16A, 1st and 2nd netball teams.  The U16s and 1st team narrowly missed out on success despite being highly competitive and playing some fantastic netball.  The 2nd team secured a great win, bringing the ball strongly through court and converting many turnovers to goal.  Well done to all three teams on playing in good spirit and showing great teamwork.

Our Netball U14ABC&D teams also travelled the same evening to Guildford High.  It was tough competition against a skilful side but the girls should be commended for their resilience and the matches have highlighted areas for our players to work on.

Best of luck to our Lacrosse Seniors who are travelling to Haberdashers' Aske's on Saturday for the South East Finals.

On other news, our gymnasts are working hard perfecting their routines for our Gym Display which will be taking place on Tuesday March 10th in our Sports Hall at 7pm. Please put this in your diary and we will let you know when tickets will be available.
