On Wednesday we hosted ACS Cobham for a swimming gala. Our U12, U13, U14, and Open A and B teams were competing. It was a great event, with a few very close finishes. Our swimmers performed well and tried their best in every race. With a few swimmers unable to attend, we had many swimming different strokes to normal and they did so with confidence. I was particularly impressed with the fantastic diving from our students; we remained composed and focused. Our A team won the event overall, whilst our B team came 3rd. Swimmer of the day goes to Alisa, who achieved a 5 second improvement in her backstroke time since the start of the school year - incredible!

On Monday, our U15A, U15B, U14B, U13A, U12A, U12B and U12C teams played in a friendly against Notting Hill and Ealing High School (NHEHS).

Our U15A and B teams started fast with both teams leading by the end of the 1st quarter. Both teams demonstrated patience, excellent communication and team work to stay in front. They also showcased some great set plays from centre pass. Well done to our shooters Ameilia, Emily, Bibi and Lulu who between them scored 36 goals. Also well played to our MVPs Lara, Emily and Lulu!

Our U14B team put into practice what they have been working on in training and played some brilliant netball in their match. Our shooters were consistent with their shots, whilst our defence were quick to pick up and turnover the ball. This resulted in a strong win of 17-8. Well done to the team overall and well done to Eliza and Amira on their player of the match awards.

Our U13As produced a dominant performance, and it was lovely to see them put into practice what they had been working on in training. Well done our MVPs Ceci and Ella who were fantastic in defence and intercepted countless passes.

Our U12A team faced a well drilled NHEHS side but showed resilience and determination to lose the game by only 5 goals. They fought hard and came back in the 4th quarter but unfortunately it was not enough. They learnt a lot and we are excited to see the U12s continue to grow and become more confident in their netball matches. Well done Annabel who received MVP. Our U12B’s started very well and took an early lead due to great passing and teamwork. NHEHS started to gain some goals back in the 3rd quarter which led to a fantastic final quarter where LEH scored the winning goal in the final 20 seconds of play. The students showed determination and enthusiasm throughout the game. Well done to Anna who received MVP.

On Tuesday, our U14C and D teams played against St Catherine’s, Twickenham, A and B teams. Both were great games with fantastic play. It was lovely to both teams put into practice what we have been working on in training with great success. For our C team we were matched goal for goal and the match ended in a draw 17-17. The D team had a very convincing win demonstrating great transition from the fabulous turnovers with a final score of 15-4. Congratulations to Ava, Audrey and Anya for being awarded player of the match by the opposition.

On Wednesday, our 1st and 2nd teams travelled to Surbiton High School for a senior match. These matches are always highly competitive, and it was fantastic to see such high-quality games being played. Our 1st team played with flair, putting excellent defensive pressure on the Surbiton team, resulting in many turnovers which we were able to convert to goal. The result was a 32-20 win. The B team equally had a great match which resulted in the game going goal for goal. The team attacked the game well but unfortunately, in the last quarter, Surbiton managed to win two turnovers resulting in a 19-16 win for Surbiton. Fantastic play by all and congratulations to Leni, Amrit and Serena for being awarded players of the match.

On Saturday, the 1st team took part in the U18 South East Finals. This included the top four schools from their respective counties. The 1st team had some debutants with Sahana and Alice stepping up to help the team. The team battled hard and gained valuable experience in the shorter format with the Nationals coming up. The team capped off the day with an outstanding performance against St Georges. It was a welcome return for Molly to the 1st team who came back with a bang and was voted by her teammates as MVP. Well done to all.

We also had our LEH Lacrosse players face Haberdasher's Aske School. We fielded 8 Teams who all played hard, bringing the skills and tactics we have been working on in training to their matches. We had some extremely pleasing results with wins from the U15A, U14A, U14B, U13A, U13B and U13C.  Our U12 Teams are handling the ball with more confidence and are learning to use both dominant and non-dominant hands at the top of their sticks.  Therefore, allowing them to play the ball in both directions. Well done to all our players and to those girls who earned the title of MVP.

Middlesex School County Championships 2024

After qualifying to represent the borough of Richmond, Eloise, Ceci, Harriet, Chloe and Maryam travelled with the Richmond team to Harrow school. Eloise was in the first race of the day and showed fantastic endurance finishing 2nd! After watching Eloise's amazing run, it was time for the Junior Girls team to race. Both Ceci and Harriet ran great races and both showcased their fast finish. Both girls have another year in the Junior Girls age group so we are excited to see how they progress next year. Chloe and Maryam were in the penultimate race of the day and showed off their endurance as they raced around the 4 1/2km course. A special congratulations to Chloe who finished 13th and has been shortlisted for the Middlesex team at the English Schools Championships.

Well done to all our athletes who raced, you were fantastic!!

On Sunday, we had a fantastic day of gymnastics at LEH for our Development squad at the Novice floor and vault competition. Gymnasts performed with grace, strength and beautiful flexibility. LEH delivered powerful vaults and received the highest vault score of the category. Floor routines were something we have been working hard on to perfect and all gymnasts delivered. The A team walked away with a fantastic 3rd place, and our B team took 2nd in their categories. A special mention to Dotty for her tremendously high vault score. Well done everybody for all your hard work.

Putney Floor and Vault - Elite

The LEH elite gymnasts took part in the Putney Floor and Vault competition on Thursday and produced some fantastic routines. The U14's exhibited powerful vaults and stuck their landings. Their floor routines were filled with high skill level and beautiful choreography. The category was large and LEH took a fantastic 4th Place.

The over 14's had a brilliant day displaying their hard work on both floor and vault. With only 4 members of the team due to injury, the team pulled off an amazing 5th place in a very difficult category.

A special mention to Isabella for an outstanding vault score and Isabella for a beautifully performed floor routine.

Congratulations to all and well done for all your hard work.
