The Summer Spectacular - the glorious celebration of our musicians in their last concert before exams – featured stirring music from Gladiator and Pirates of the Caribbean, a captivating James Bond Medley, tuneful songs from The Sound of Music, and some driving Bartók and Bernstein, as well as superb solos from our Upper Sixth leavers. But it’s the performers’ joie de vivre which makes it so special, especially after two miserable pandemic years without live music. Our musicians excelled themselves with performances of extraordinary quality. There were fabulous performances from six superb soloists and, without exception, they dominated the stage with masterclasses in professionalism and charisma. This is also the last performance opportunity of the year for all the senior groups as the public exams begin.  It was an astonishing evening of extraordinarily high quality musicmaking from our musicians. We wish them all the best of luck in their exams and thank the Upper Sixth for brightening our rehearsals, concerts and daily life for so many years.
