The Carnival comes to LEH

As many of you all know we were all recently able to enjoy the amazing L4 Drama Carnival on 15th June organised by our wonderful Drama Department where many groups performed their Grimm’s Tales pieces.  Each were inspired by the original stories and were written, directed and acted by the L4s (with a little help from the Drama Department!). All the groups worked really well together and showed their creativity and great acting skills to create some spectacular performances. L4s and teachers were invited to watch the finalists and enjoy some delicious carnival food that our catering staff had kindly organised for us.

The fun of the carnival did not end there! We had a glitter station that was managed by our talented Miss Torrent , a photo booth station, we watched some impressive juggling by Kiki Hanreck in our year (L4), and we even got our fortune told by Gypsy Rosy Lee (AKA Mrs Sinnett). When I walked into the Friends’ Courtyard it was like being transported to a mini-festival with bunting, messages hanging from the trees, lighting, and staging decor.

I have to mention a special thank you to Mr Spry and Miss Darwood for designing and ‘tech-ing’ the whole event. I had so much fun performing on stage with my classmates and loved watching everyone’s performances. Of course we had our very own judges to make the difficult choice of winners: many thanks to Ms Lockett, Mr Brittan and Dr Westwood, who did an amazing job.  Finally a very big thank you to Ms Bedford, Mrs Whitfield, Miss Lindsell and Miss Torrent for all their time, and hard work they put in to bring some good old fashioned fun, laughter and joy into our lives after a very difficult year! Also a massive well done to all of L4!
