We had a team of swimmers attend the London Olympic pool last Friday to swim in the Bath Cup relays. Our team of six consisted of students from Thirds to Lower 5, Alice B, Ananya S, Ines S, Lily D, Holly T and Tabby S who swam in two different relays, freestyle and medley, against schools from across Great Britain. Our team swam brilliantly, with some pupils achieving long course PB’s in the process. Well done to all on a fantastic day of swimming and gaining great experience in this National competition.
National Schools Lacrosse Championship
Sat 8th – Tuesday 11th March
Senior 1st team
The 1st team took part in the National Schools Lacrosse Championship over the weekend. The team had worked hard all season to prepare for the tournament. The team were in good spirits and eager to get going. The team took care of business with fantastic goal keeping, defence, midfield and attacking play. They defeated North London Collegiate school, Moreton Hall, Heathfield, Haberdashers' Girls School, Botton School enroute to an undefeated Saturday and were back in the championship bracket winning their section! On Sunday the team started off pool play with a hard fought 2-2 draw with Wycombe Abbey School. They beat St Mary's Calne 5-4 with the last pool play game against St Swithun's was a close affair but we won 4-3 and earning a top seed going into the last round of 16. The team traded goal for goal with Withington but unfortunately time ran out and we lost 5-4.
What a weekend for the LEH 1st team to go undefeated until the knockouts! The team had achieved their goal of getting back into the championship bracket. The whole team were the MVPs and well done!
Senior 2nd team
The 2nd team showcased an impressive performance at the National Schools’ Lacrosse Championships. On day 1, the team were fired up and ready to compete, finishing 3rd in their section, securing a spot in the Championship division of play for day two. As the second day unfolded, the team faced tough opposition in the morning’s pool play. They secured a draw against a tough St Catherine’s side and only narrowly lost to Guildford High (the eventual champions) in their second game. Despite this, the team bounced back and defeated Downe House, ending pool play on a win. In the first round of the knockout stages, they played an exhilarating match against Haberdashers’. They controlled the game well and secured a thrilling victory, earning themselves a spot in the quarter finals. Unfortunately, here they struggled to find their rhythm against a formidable Berkhamsted team. However, finishing Top 8 in the country and playing their best lacrosse of the season is a fantastic achievement and a brilliant way to end the season.
U15A
On Monday, the LEH U15A Lacrosse Team travelled the short journey down the M3 to Aldershot to compete. Twenty-nine schools from across the country descended on Surrey to compete for the crown. The team had a tough pool to play in the morning and finished with two wins, two losses and a draw - we finished Third in our section. This qualified us for the Championship division and a place in the top 16 teams. It was here that we faced a tough Putney High Team, the eventual finalists, and despite some strong defensive plays, we could not manage to capitalise on our opportunities in the attack and came up short and that is where our day ended. The players showed tremendous growth and improved with every match. Well done on another strong team performance.
U14A
Day 3 of the National Schools’ Lacrosse Tournament 2025 saw our U14A and U13 A teams travel to Aldershot to compete against 32 schools from all over England.
We are thrilled to share with you the outstanding performance of our U14 Lacrosse team at this week’s National Schools Championships; the culmination of the Lacrosse season. The team showcased incredible skill, teamwork, and determination, finishing in the top 4 teams in the country!
The team started strong in the group stages, demonstrating their dominance on the field with a series of impressive victories over Cheltenham Ladies (7-0), Godolphin (5-0), Walthamstow Hall (10-0), and a hard-fought draw against Putney (3-3). On-pitch highlights include brilliant ball movement, exhilarating transition offence, and cohesive team defence.
In the knockout stages, our players continued to excel under pressure. In the round of 16, a defensive masterclass secured a convincing win against St. Swithun's (3-1), before the attack shone in a quarter-final victory over Caterham (5-2). Although the journey ended after a semi-final defeat, their performance throughout the tournament was nothing short of exceptional, demonstrating their best lacrosse on the biggest of stages.
We are incredibly proud of our girls' achievement. They bought into the gameplan wholeheartedly, remaining relentlessly positive, supporting each other throughout. Their success is testament to their hard work, their trust in each other, and dedication over the entire season.
U13A
The U13s had four teams in their section in the morning and came away with wins against Walthamstow Hall and Heathfield Ascot. They came up short against Wycombe Abbey and Birkenhead. The scores were good enough to qualify for the Championship Division, the top 16 U13 Team in the country. in the final 16 they faced a tough Putney High School team and unfortunately lost this match.
The team entered the day undaunted by their first Nationals and played some lovely team lacrosse and improved as the day went on. Well done to all who played and best of luck in your future Championships!
Gymnastics
On Wednesday 12th March, the gymnastics team were in action at the London Regional Tumbling competition which was held at Streatham and Clapham School. We had pupils representing in the under 11, under 14 and under 19 age groups. Each competitor had to complete three different tumble runs comprising of straight and twisting movements.
Polly in the under 11 category finished in a very respectable third place. We were also highly successful in the under 14 category with Isabella E finishing in third position, picking up the Bronze medal, and Isabella D bringing home the Silver medal. Finally, in the under 19 category, Polina completed three excellent tumbles and was rewarded with the Gold medal, a trophy and the regional title.
Huge congratulations to both Isabella D and Polina who will now go on to represent the London regional at the National Finals which will be held in Stoke on Trent in May.

Our U13s braved freezing rain on Thursday to play their penultimate match of the season. It was fantastic to see all of our six teams out playing netball. All teams made strong starts and demonstrated some good passing and movement off the ball. However, Godolphin were well drilled and organised and we could not break down their defence. Well done to Aurelia, Ananya, Shakti, Orla and Rania who all received Player of the Match and showed fantastic energy and resilience.
An amazing week of sport well done all!
