Our  U13 Novice Gymnasts also showed energy, precision and excellent team spirit coming away with a Silver medal at the LSGA Novice Floor & Vault competition.

Netball

Regional Netball Finals

On Sunday our U16/U15 combined A team and U14 A team played in the London & South East Regional Round of Nationals. Regional’s consists of the top two schools from the county rounds from Surrey, Kent, Essex and Middlesex. We were very excited to qualify for the Regional round having played in an extremely tough county round.

It was an excellent experience to be able to combine the U16 and U15’s together as one team and they can be so proud of some brilliant passages of play and well fought contested matches, despite the atrocious weather. Unfortunately, they did not get through to the National finals but well done and congratulations to the team who consisted of Lara, Amelia, Lucy, Zoe, Ines, Olivia, Anya, Lulu, Josie, Isla, Charlie, Violet.

The U14’s, equally, had a tough day with the weather but played some fantastic netball in both defense and attack. It was exciting to see some great flair on court and dominating some matches, putting in excellent performances. We started the day drawing our first game but then continued to play from strength to strength. We only lost one game all day which was a nail-biting match only losing by one goal. This meant we were placed 2nd overall resulting in qualifying for National finals which will be held on the 22nd March in Sheffield. This is an outstanding result placing us in the top 18 schools in the country at this point. A huge congratulations to Rosy, Cecilia, Chinmyee, Ella, Emily, Aishnavi, Mikaila, Maddy, Helena, Claudia and Brishelle.

Fixtures

The U12 F, G, & H team had a great fixture against Surbiton High on Monday, winning two of the three games. All players worked together on the court, to put into practice what they have been working on this year. Showing hard work, determination, and encouragement. Well done to all players. Players of the match went to Felicity (F team), Lara (G team) and Anika (H team).

The U14 C and D team hosted Surbiton on Tuesday in the Sports Hall due to the poor weather. The U14s were looking to put into practise all the work they have been putting in at training from last term and the start of this year. The Cs were played first and competed in a highly contested game finishing with a 6-5 win, showing their ability to control possession in the last few minutes of the game to keep hold of the win. The D team were up second and after taking a couple of minutes to settle into their first game post-Christmas, they managed to pull away for a 9-4 win. A special mention to the shooters who were able to shoot confidently throughout the game. Well done to the player of the matches, Nuriyah + Annabella from the Cs and Emilia + Isabel from the Ds.

On Wednesday our U13A, B, C and D teams played against St Paul’s Girls’ School.  The weather thankfully held off for the teams to get their matches played and all players had some competitive games. We sadly lost the games, but the students demonstrated some fantastic attack and defence skills and narrowly lost out on score lines. Players of the match were awarded to Lara, Chen, Elsa, Isha, Hyunsuh and Sahana.

Lacrosse

Tri-County tournament

On Thursday, our U14 A and B lacrosse teams travelled to Wycombe Abbey to play in their Tri-County Tournament. Both tournaments were ‘round robin’ formats, with the A team playing six games, and the B team playing four. Both teams went from strength to strength throughout the day, with the A team winning each game they played, holding teams out in defence and scoring some lovely team goals. The B team also had a strong tournament, only losing one game, making them the 2nd best team in the three counties that participate at the end of the day - a great achievement. Not only this, but they also worked hard in every game, turning out good defensive play, and fast attack, scoring some great goals. The A team’s undefeated record meant that they retained their title as Tri-County champions, well done!  Well done to Kitty and Amie for achieving most valuable players.

Fixture

Last Saturday, the LEH lacrosse teams took on Guildford High School in a thrilling four rounds of four games with surprisingly no rain. The teams played brilliantly, supported each other and work extremely hard, demonstrating their attacking and defensive skills.  We had a mixture of results, but all games were played with fantastic competitive spirit. Well done to all who played.

Gymnastics

LSGA Novice Floor & Vault competition

On Saturday 25th January, our U13 Novice Gymnasts team were in action in the London Regional Competition held at Tadworth Leisure Centre.  All our gymnasts performed a set routine and a vault against teams from across the London region. They competed with energy, precision and with excellent team spirit and came away with Silver medals, finishing in second place, narrowly missing out on 1st place.  Well done to Ophelia, Isla, Vera, Alisa, Orla and Cecily who made up the team.
