It's been a fabulous week of sport in the run up to Half term with great performances from our cricket and tennis players. We wish everyone a relaxing Half term break.

Cricket

On Saturday, the U13A&B, U15 and U12 cricket teams hosted Gordon’s School with hardball and soft ball fixtures. The games were played with great spirit. The U13A had a mixture of debuts and experienced players. The team bowled and batted with some brilliant skill earning the win. The U15s played great team cricket and supported each other throughout. The team earned the win with clinical bowling and aggressive batting. The U12s hosted their first fixture and played both the Gordons A and B team in softball competitions. The team demonstrated wonderful bowling and and attacked the oppositions bowling to win both games. The U13B had a mixture of U13s and U12s who enjoyed a fixture in the sun and applying what they have learnt. The excellent application resulted in the team earning the win. Well done to all who played!

On Tuesday, our U12A team played their first hardball cricket game in an eight-a-side pairs game. The players thoroughly enjoyed their first experience with the hardball despite the loss, showing great aptitude with the bowling and becoming accustomed to facing faster bowling. Well done to all.

In the U15 Middlesex cup quarterfinal on Thursday, the team took on The Mill Hill school. Our LEH team had a great energy and togetherness going into the fixture. The team batted first however, unfortunately, the mixture of powerful bowling and unpredictable bounce of the track led the team being bowled out for 65. The girls responded well and went out in the field to defend their score. The team put up an admirable defence, taking two wickets but the Mill Hill team reached the 66 target to earn the win.  The team will return to the field to play Claremont after Half Term.

Tennis

The Y7&8 (Thirds & Lower 4) team took on Holland Park on Monday night in a Division Two tennis fixture. With each player competing in a singles and doubles game. The players did very well to challenge a talented side. Both teams came away with 3 wins, taking the fixture to a tiebreak. Holland Park snatched the win in a contested decider. It was great to see all the players attack the games and put into practice what they have learnt inside and out of school. Well done to all who played!

Well done to Tara L (Thirds) who won her singles match convincingly at 6-0.
