What an exciting week in PE. After over a year of no fixtures, we have been extremely busy this half term.

Last Saturday we were both home and away to St George’s Weybridge for both our U12 and U13s cricket teams. It was our first fixture of the year and our pupils were excited but naturally a little nervous as well. The glorious weather helped and our players put up a great fight against a strong and experienced St George’s side on both counts. Our players did really well and we were delighted to be back in play again. It was really exciting to see our Thirds represent LEH for the first time in sports!

On Monday 14th our U15 players travelled to Kingston Grammar School for what proved to be a very hot and sticky afternoon of cricket against a very tough opposition. Our team played really well. While they did not win, they should be commended for a great game.

Tuesday 15th we hosted Kingston Grammar for an U14 cricket for their first ever cricket game. Again, against a strong opposition, our players were victorious in their pairs fixture. Well done to them and hopefully there will be many more!

On Wednesday this week we hosted KGS U12s tennis players for our U12 tennis players first fixture of their LEH. Despite the almost unbearable heat, there was some fantastic tennis played and we came away with a resounding win.

We are very much looking forward to next week’s athletic meets, even though due to new restrictions, the Guildford High School and Borough Athletics meets have been cancelled. We have 24 athletes travelling to Lee Valley on Monday for the Track & Field Cup, as well as a smaller team going to Oxford on Thursday for the Achilles School Relays. Best of luck to all and we will let you know next week how these meetings went.
