The highlight before half term, of course, was our annual Wellbeing Day on 9th October. When this was first proposed by the Head Girl team and School Council three years ago, the aim of the day was to give pupils and staff an opportunity to find the activities which are most effective at helping them maintain their mental health and wellbeing. The range and variety of activities undertaken by everyone across the school on Wellbeing Day was extraordinary, and included petting farm animals, meditation, trying new ways of making art, creating happiness jars, dancing and doing jigsaws to name but a few. In addition every year group had a fabulous session with award-winning comedian and mental health activist John Ryan, who talked about the importance of managing one’s own mental health, as well as how to support friends who might be struggling. Huge thanks must go to Mrs Poyner and her team for their feat of organisation which meant that everyone had an extremely enjoyable day.
