We flew out on Saturday 15th of October, tired from the previous week of school but really excited to see all of our Renaissance case studies in person! After meeting our tour guide and experiencing some flight delays, we landed in Rome and got straight to visiting art and architecture. In Rome we saw Raphael and Michelangelo in the Vatican, and climbed to see the Tempietto, before we caught a train to Florence. In Florence we saw lots of lovely churches and palazzos, and even climbed the Duomo. I think we would all agree that being able to see especially the architecture in person was a hugely different experience than just studying photos. It really helped all of us to have more of a sense of just how spiritual so many of these incredible buildings are - and some of them are a lot bigger than they look in pictures!  We finished the trip with the Uffizi, before flying home. The trip was jam packed with culture, and we came home very tired but happy to have gained first-hand experience of many of our A level cast studies. Thank you so much to Miss Farnum-Ford for accompanying us - we all had a great time!
