The Holles Singers tour of New York was a triumph! So many highlights - the experience of opening the show for the Rockettes’ Christmas Spectacular in front of 6000 people was astonishing. Apparently they thought that as well as we’ve been invited back not only for next Christmas, but also offered a slot at Madison Square at the start of the Harlem Globetrotters’ game in February 2020!

Singing at the Empire State and UN Buildings was also extraordinarily atmospheric and memorable. Our concert at St Paul the Apostle was of sacred repertoire and it was quite an experience relishing the 7-second echo. We also met up with the Yale Spizzwinks – an undergraduate male a cappella group from the famous university - with whom we lunched and sang, before their return visit to us in May. The flashmobs were very special - particularly passing Lady Liberty and singing the poignant ‘Imagine’ whilst impeachment proceedings were ramping up in the House. Add to this, ice skating and carriage rides in Central Park, shopping at Christmas markets and Macy’s and a trip to see ‘Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway, and this was a trip of a lifetime!
