Monday 22nd January saw the arrival of over 60 Year 9 linguists from our ISSP (Independent State School Partnership) partner schools: Hampton School, Hampton High, Orleans Park, Teddington and Tolworth, for the Modern Foreign Languages Day. They were joined by eight of our own U4 French, German and Spanish linguists for the day. After a continental breakfast, the group began to mingle and get to know each other through the first ice-breaker activity. They then watched a carefully selected screening in their chosen foreign language. After lunch, groups analysed different aspects of the film from themes to characters, before presenting to their peers. To close the day students experienced a taster session in Italian, Japanese, Mandarin or Russian led by LEH teachers. Students enjoyed the opportunity to meet other talented linguists of their own age and develop their language skills in a creative and sociable environment.
