LEH Physicists Triumph Over Thousands!

In the Autumn Term 2018 every one of the excellent LEH Physicists entered Round 1 of the British Physics Olympiad competition.  This year over 1,960 students participated across the UK (with a further 1,000 students in China). The paper was designed to stretch and challenge the top young physicists in the country and our girls put in a sterling performance. Every question presented a real challenge.  Taking these papers helps our students exercise particular problem solving skills that take time and effort to develop.

When the Round 1 results were returned all of our girls had received Commendations for their efforts. In addition, Alex (UVIE) received a Bronze II, which means her submission was stronger than 1000 other competitors, and Olivia (UVIB) received a Bronze I, putting her submission above 1250 others.

This is a very well deserved achievement and stands as further testament to the talent of the students that pass through LEHs Physics laboratories every year.
