The English Department, together with our librarians, Mrs Payne and Mrs Didiot-Cook, marked World Book Day on Thursday 7th March with a lunchtime reading event. Girls from across the school donned costumes representing literary characters, from Pollyanna and Arthur Dent to Golem and gave readings from their favourite novels. Staff also read from childhood classics including Winnie-the-Pooh (the theme for the staff’s costumes this year), The Tale of Peter Rabbit and Le Petit Chaperon Rouge.

Earlier in the day, Mrs Payne launched World Book Day in the LRC with a book-sharing breakfast in which free copies of books - especially published for the day - were distributed to the girls.
