At the start of term, our enthusiastic Lower and Upper 4 Book Club members posed a thought-provoking question: What should Book Club be about? Their collective answer was both innovative and inspiring: the creation of an LEH Book Awards.
With imagination and teamwork at the heart of their mission, the students set to work. They designed unique and diverse award categories, each reflecting the eclectic tastes and interests of our school community. Next, they meticulously selected a shortlist of titles, ensuring a range of genres and voices were represented. Their dedication didn't stop there - they handcrafted stunning rosettes from old book pages, adding a creative and sustainable touch to crown the winning titles.
What truly set this initiative apart was its commitment to inclusivity. The students opened the awards to the entire school, inviting everyone to participate in the celebration of literature. This thoughtful approach not only highlighted the incredible variety of books available in our library but also fostered a sense of community and shared love for reading.
The enthusiasm and creativity of our Book Club members shone through in every detail of the LEH Book Awards. Their hard work and passion transformed a simple idea into a memorable event that united the school in appreciation of storytelling and imagination.
We couldn't be prouder of their achievements and are already looking forward to seeing what literary adventures they plan for next term!
