On 7th January the Lower Five Textiles students enjoyed a trip out to the Zandra Rhodes’ Fashion & Textiles Museum to visit the “Beautiful People: The Boutique in 1960s Counterculture” exhibition looking at some of the flamboyant and creative styles of this era. Alongside this they were lucky enough to take part in a Fashion Illustration workshop where they devised their own mood board based on 60s style & prints to help them create their own fashion collection. They were also able to quiz their tutor on her experience designing and learn some sketching tips and techniques. The pupils rose to the challenge superbly and were praised for their originality.
"I enjoyed learning about the psychological history behind the use of psychedelics and psychedelic patterns, and I also found learning how to draw fashion designs useful and interesting." Safia (L5)
