L4 return to Ancient Civilisation

On Wednesday 8th May 2024, we went to the Ashmolean Museum, in Oxford. Once we got there, we were met with a fantastic talk about the Romans and how they would have led their lives. We were able to ask many questions about the statues present in the cast gallery. The gallery gave us an understanding of how the various people were portrayed and what stories were told during that time period. Furthermore, we were given the chance to handle the Roman artefacts. This meant that we could really build our creativity and imagine what journeys the objects may have gone through. We were also given the opportunity to look around the museum and the different artefacts from the different eras.

Overall, I really felt that the trip was not only informative, but also enjoyable - giving our year group a true taste of ancient civilisation.
