On Tuesday, 31st January the first round of the Central London French Debating Competition took place at St Paul’s Girls’ School.
Around 30 schools from around the region took part and the motions that were debated in French were:
- The rise in energy prices is a good thing.
- International sporting events should only be held in countries that respect human rights.
- Voting should be mandatory.
U6 pupils Olivia and Charlotte and L6 pupils Behnoush and Eva represented our two LEH Teams. They all presented coherent and convincing arguments with great fluency, clarity and spontaneity. It was very impressive to see them engaging so passionately in their debates.
I am very pleased to report that Behnoush and Eva have now advanced to the next round of the competition (regional finals) taking place next Tuesday.
