The theme of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week is Find your Brave. During assembly on 3rd February, the girls shared some interesting ideas about times when we all need to be brave and how hard it can be to step out of your comfort zone. We listened to some great examples of bravery, from abseiling and riding a bike to asking questions in front of others and sharing worries. Here in the Junior School we prioritise discussion time in assemblies, PSHE lessons and Talk Time, to share thoughts on how we can be 10% braver and identify the things that hold us back as well as the things that help us move forward. As parents and as teachers, we all understand how important it is to give our children the time to talk and share their thoughts with us.
Staying with the theme of bravery and meddling emotions, Form IH shared their fabulous family assembly with us on 7th February. We heard all about the workings of our brain, identifying our emotions, how mindfulness can help and useful advice on the power of positivity. Great work, well done, Form IH!
