In the evening on Tuesday 5th March the Art Department hosted a fascinating Art & Architecture Alumnae Talk. This involved three ex-students returning to discuss their experiences of Art and Architecture education, as well as their progression on to careers within creative fields. Those taking part included - Gabriela Cohen, who following a BA in Fine Art at Bournemouth University has gone on to exhibit numerous times in London, including at The Saatchi Gallery. Annie Lee who studied Foundation Diploma at Central Saint Martins and is currently in her final year at Slade School of Fine Art, UCL. As well as Phoebe Lawrie who initially studied at Oxford School of Architecture and is now in her final year at Westminster University.

Some of the topics covered included the ways in which creative degree courses foster independence and practical skills, as well as the wide range of eventual career paths available to those following these courses.

A lively Q&A session followed the presentations. The event was well attended by both current students and parents, and our ex-students said that they all greatly enjoyed being back in school. This is part of an ongoing initiative to forge strong links with our ex-students who have progressed on to creative education courses and careers.

The Art Department would like to thank Gabriela, Annie and Phoebe for taking the time to return to school to give their presentations.
