The Perse Coding Team Challenge’s second round was a showcase of computational prowess and collaborative spirit. Four trios, drawn from the ranks of U4, L5, and U5, engaged in a friendly yet fierce competition to solve complex coding challenges.

At the start of the Easter break, the Art History Department received some very exciting news from Art History Abroad, who run cultural travel courses in Italy and beyond for students and adults.

Over the past term, we have been learning about the artistic history of St Ives and, at the start of the Easter holidays, were able to find out for ourselves what drew so many artists to Cornwall c.1945.

The Easter break saw us run three Duke of Edinburgh expeditions: Training and practice expeditions for Gold sea kayaking and walking in Pembrokeshire and the Brecon Beacons and a qualifying walking expedition for our silver participants.

The A2 Challenge consists of a single, hour long, written test designed for 2nd year A Level students and coordinated by the British Physics Olympiad team at the University of Oxford.

On 18th November, the Winter Concert at the Rose Theatre was an extraordinary celebration of the breadth of musical talent at LEH.

The sky was a dazzling blue, the wind was blowing in my ears and I was dangling 10 metres up in the air. Suddenly I pulled a white string and I was swooshing off, my partner Holly was screaming wildly in my ear, and we were being flung up into the air before flying back down. Where were we?

We have seen a steady stream of fantastic Jolly Jars making their way into school over the since the October half term holiday and there was great excitement in assembly on 16th November when the class results of the Jolly Jars competition were announced.

The Mathematical Olympiad for Girls (MOG) is an event run by the UK Mathematics Trust, introduced in 2011, to help schools nurture the talents of enthusiastic young female mathematicians.

On 9th November, we held our assembly in the Gateway of the Senior School, where we went to admire the display of ‘thank you’ poppies which had been made by Senior School girls to mark the 100th anniversary, this coming Sunday, of the armistice which brought the First World War to an end

On 16th October, LII had a wonderful time outdoors in the October sunshine, during their visit to Snuff Mill Environmental Centre. The girls had a lots of fun hunting for mini-beasts and pond dipping and were very pleased to find a giant earthworm!

In the first week of the summer holiday LEH sent a delegate to the amazing South East London, Big Bang Fair.

LEH students have gained top results in their GCSEs, with 93% of exams scoring the equivalent of A* or A, and 85% of students achieving 9 or more A-A* grades.

LEH is once again celebrating an excellent set of A level results, with 96% of its students scoring A* -B and achieving their places at their first choice university in the UK and US.
