The Easter break saw us run three Duke of Edinburgh expeditions: Training and practice expeditions for Gold sea kayaking and walking in Pembrokeshire and the Brecon Beacons and a qualifying walking expedition for our silver participants.

Physics Trip to Mars

On 15th March, Lauren (UVQ), Rachael (LVP) and Paulina (UVP) attended the UCL lecture: Robotics, the Martian Rover and technologies used to get to Mars. The lecture was given by Ms Eleni Bohacek, a Ph.D student in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering.

Ice Maiden

CERN Trip - Sixth Form Physics

A couple of minutes before leaving the globe an amazing light display depicting the journey of the beginning of the universe began. Even though the narration was all in French we all thoroughly enjoyed the animations.  This generated an excitement to learn even more about the work CERN do in preparation for our tour after lunch.
