A Parent's Guide to Giving and Getting Involved
Active participation by LEH families has been instrumental in fostering our school’s tradition of excellence. Our students successfully balance outstanding scholarship with impressive achievements in sport and exciting creativity in the arts and beyond. We rely on our parents to support and encourage their daughters throughout their years at LEH.
Our aim is to ensure that LEH is a school full of opportunity, challenge and friendship; a place to take risks and become bold; a place to discover passions, talents and themselves; a place that nurtures remarkable women.
Your support of LEH ensures an exceptional experience for your daughters. I hope this booklet helps you learn about the many opportunities you have to become involved in the life of this special place. Your participation and generosity will make a difference not only to our students but to our entire school community.
I look forward to working with you to build the relationships that are so important here.

How can I get involved?
LEH has historically enjoyed an engaged and generous parent body and every school needs an active volunteer network and strong financial support. How can you get involved? The answer is threefold.
There are many ways to stay connected with LEH throughout your daughter’s school experience. Staying involved in the small and large events in your daughter’s school life helps her, and our school, succeed. We encourage you to talk with your daughter about homework and friends, attend our parenting sessions, read the Friday Post each week and visit the Parent Portal on a regular basis, to name a few.
Active participation takes on many different forms: helping with special events such as the Christmas Fair or other social gatherings, attending sports matches, concerts and plays, volunteering careers support. Every LEH parent is encouraged to become an active member of the LEH family.
I’m sure you’re aware that independent schools receive no financial support from the Government. Everything we do at LEH depends on income from tuition fees and the generous contributions of people like you. We therefore hope you will feel able to contribute to our Annual Fund campaign and, if possible, our Bursary Fund. We aim to fund several pupils in every year group whose parents would not be able to afford LEH school fees, but whose daughters nevertheless would benefit from an LEH education, and contribute to our community.
Ways to volunteer
We encourage and invite all families to subscribe to The Friends of LEH.
The Friends of LEH is the association of parents of the girls at the school. It is a registered charity which exists primarily to promote a sense of community within the school by running social events for parents and girls throughout the year. It also aims to enhance the educational experience of the girls, via fundraising for the non-essential but valuable equipment and experiences.
Career Mentoring Programme
LEH has a well-developed programme of career mentoring opportunities offered by parents and alumnae. If you would like to offer your experience and skills to help an LEH student, please contact Alison Matthews, Head of Careers, at firstname.lastname@example.org
Catch the spirit!
There are many opportunities to applaud and cheer on our students. From sports matches and dance performances, concerts and drama productions, the list of activities throughout the year is impressive. You are encouraged to attend any or all of these wonderful events.
Our students are talented, spirited, and competitive. Your enthusiastic support matters, as well as your presence and model of good sportsmanship. Don’t miss a chance to be a fan!
Opportunities to give
The Bursary Campaign - We hope you will also consider supporting us as we build funds to support our ‘needs blind’ admissions ambition. This is an exciting time in the history of LEH and your support today will benefit future generations of students.
The Annual Fund - Annual giving strengthens and sustains the extraordinary opportunities of an LEH education. The school relies on these contributions to provide the extras not covered by our planned budgeting. Giving to the Annual Fund is the starting point for supporting LEH financially.
