Senior Prize Day
Prize Giving took place on the evening of Friday 27th January, to recognise the achievements of past and present pupils. The opening address was given by Mrs Jane, Ross, The Chairman of Governors, welcoming visitors including the guest of honour, Professor Celia Brackenridge OBE, a former pupil and distinguished academic in the field of sport. Mrs Ross highlighted the schools outstanding public examination results, as well as the 300th Anniversary events, which are providing such a wonderful showcase for the school.
In her address, Mrs Low first welcomed guests including past teaching staff, before outlining the achievements of the school, both academic, extra-curricular and within the wider community before reflecting how far LEH has developed since it's humble beginnings in the 18th century, and leaving guests to ponder how the school might have changed 300 years from now.
Following a presentation of the prizes, Professor Brackenridge gave an entertaining and thought-provoking talk about the role of sport in a wider social context. The Head Girl, Alice Jamison bought the proceedings to a close with a vote of thanks.
