Musicians gain places with The National Children's Orchestra
Congratulations to Rosamund Downer (Upper Fourth) and Olivia Gomes (Thirds). Both young musicians have accepted places with The National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain.
Rosamund, will join the Main Orchestra playing the ‘cello, whilst Olivia will join the Under 13s Orchestra as a violinist. This will be Rosamund's fifth year and Olivia's fourth year in the acclaimed orchestra. Every year the National Children's Orchestra auditions over eight hundred children, aged between 7-14 years, who hope to become a member of one of the five age banded orchestras. The benefits of NCO are not only musical but also social, providing these talented musicians with the opportunity to meet like minded individuals who all share the same love and passion for music.
The older Orchestras, Main and Under 13s, perform at concerts across the country; in July Rosamund will be playing at the Cadogan Hall in Central London and at Christmas both girls will play in concerts at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on the South Bank.
