Classics visit to Greece
Girls studying Classics enjoyed a one week trip to Greece during the Easter break. The visit started with a trip to the Athens Archaeological Museum to see some familiar sculptures and other ancient artefacts. In a deluge of rain, the group then visited the Parthenon, which despite being covered in scaffolding was an impressive site.
Other highlights included visits to Delphi, Olympia, Mycenae, Edpidauros and Nafplion before concluding with a three-island cruise from Athens to the surrounding islands.
After a visit to the amphitheatre of Dionysus, the group headed off to Athens Airport to catch their flight home, experiencing first hand the challenges of the newly opened Terminal 5.
Thanks to Mrs Welsh, Miss Eltis, Miss Jeffery and Mr Piper for assisting and organising the trip.
