Links with Local Maintained Schools
Hampton Executive Consortium
The school is an active member of the Hampton Executive, a group of state secondary schools in the Richmond Borough, working under the chairmanship of Sir John Rowling with LEH and Hampton School, to raise educational standards and to promote social cohesion. The activities of the Executive are funded through the state-independent school partnership, ‘London Challenge'.
Events organised and/or funded by LEH during 2008-9 were as follows:
- Organising and funding the Pubic Speaking Gifted & Talented Day for Year 9 (60+ pupils from 6 schools)
- Organising and funding a Model United Nations Conference for Year 10 pupils (100+ pupils from 7 schools)
- Organising the A/A* revision days in Maths, English and Science
- Provision of staff for A/A* revision sessions for key marginal pupils in Maths and Science
- Organisation and hosting of Sixth Form mentoring programme for Year 11 pupils (English, Maths, Science) from Teddington School
- Organisation of the Sixth Form mentoring programme for Year 11 pupils (English and Science) at HCC
Shine
2008-9 saw the first year of funding from the SHINE Trust for a ‘Serious Fun on Saturdays' programme. 42 Year 5 girls from local state junior/primary schools attended enrichment sessions on Saturday mornings for fourteen weeks from November 2008 – March 2009. These sessions are run by LEH staff and mentored by six members of the Sixth Form, using the school's facilities. See http://www.shinetrust.org.uk/site/pages/119_thelehs.php
Schools for children with special educational needs
Pupils organise, and help supervise, events for pupils from local schools for pupils with moderate learning and behavioural issues. These include a ‘Splash and Gym' event, using the school's sporting facilities free of charge; two day trips – one to a museum in London and one to a city farm, funded jointly by LEH and Hampton School.
Taster Days
Pupils from a local secondary school (HCC) are invited to our Sixth Form taster day each year.
Activities with local infant and primary schools
Pupils run and take part in a number of weekly activities in local state primary schools in the local area. This includes assisting adults, organising, or leading the delivery of enrichment extra-curricular activities. Programmes run over 2008-9 included:

Activities with local secondary schools
Pupils are engaged in various mentoring activities with local state secondary schools:
Hampton Community College(HCC)
- GCSE mentoring in Maths and Science.
- Transition mentoring for pupils in Year 7
The GCSE mentoring scheme has received significant attention in the educational world, including from the Richmond Children and Young People's Trust, the Training and Development Agency for Schools, and ‘ContinYou', one of the UK's leading community learning organisations. features the scheme on its website (http://www.continyou.org.uk/).
Teddington School
- GCSE mentoring in English and Maths
30+ pupils from Teddington are mentored by Sixth Form pupils from LEH and Hampton School in Spring Term.
Model United Nations
The school's Model United Nations group discusses and raises awareness of global issues. In June 2009, the school hosted the first conference for schools in the Hampton Executive, attracting over 100 pupils from local schools.
Music
LEH commissioned a major new cantata for pupils at local primary schools, ‘Henry's Revel', organised and run by music staff from LEH, as part of the celebrations surrounding the 500th anniversary of the accession of Henry VIII. The work was performed by pupils from Carlisle Infant School, Hampton Hill Junior school, Hampton Junior School and LEH at Hampton Court Palace.
The Director of Music regularly takes choir rehearsals at two local junior/infant schools. Pupils assist at concerts with local schools, and played for the Hampton Hill Junior School Valentine Ball. Staff from local schools are invited to music and drama performances at LEH.
Classics Partnerships
The school works in partnership with the local branch of ‘Discover Classics' (Surrey & South West London Classics Network for Schools), an outreach project run by the University of Oxford, which aims to respond to the needs of students of all ages for fun, informative and imaginative ways to learn and think beyond the confines of curricula. The Classics Department invited pupils from the following schools to the series of lectures and talks organised through ‘Discover Classics':

- Kingston Grammar School
Sport
Richmond Borough School Sports Partnership (RBSSP)
- The school is a member of the RBSSP sharing facilities, and skills with local schools to develop sports provision in the area, with a particular focus on working with primary schools.
- One member of the P.E. staff co-ordinates these activities as a specifically designated responsibility, and is remunerated by the school.
- Pupils from LEH take part in RBSSP sports events not normally offered by the school, including Hockey and Basketball matches.
The school hosted and staffed a Netball Coaching training day for local teachers
