Public Benefit Provision
Cultural Contribution

The school sponsors and supports Music and Drama activities in the community in the following ways:

Members of staff of local schools and local civic leaders are invited to school plays and musicals.

The school has strong music links with several local primary, junior and infant schools. Over recent years, we have run Opera workshops and assisted with school concerts. In June 2010, LEH commissioned a major new cantata for pupils at local primary schools, ‘And all that…'. Written by a member of staff at LEH, the work was performed at Hampton Court Palace by a choir of over 100, comprising singers from Hampton Junior School, Carlisle Infant School, The Lady Eleanor Holles School and the Hampton Hill Singers, an adult community choir, under the direction of the school's Director of Music.

In addition, the Director of Music led a Family Opera Night Evening at Hampton Hill Junior School, regarding and directing singers from Hampton Junior School and the Hampton Hill Singers. This also involved leading whole-school assemblies.

The Director of Music continues to act as an adviser for local music teachers

Some 18 pupils take part in national artistic bodies, for example the National Youth Theatre, National Youth Choir, and the National Children's Orchestra. In addition, a large number of pupils take part in local artistic groups, such as Thames Youth Orchestra and Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra

The school is keen for its facilities to be used for cultural pursuits, and local groups have in the past made use of the school's facilities free of charge, including Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra, the Kodaly Society of Great Britain, and Chelsea Opera Group.

The Drama Company, SMF Productions, lease drama facilities at a reduced rate three times a year.

Members of UIV (Year 9) performed the play, ‘Peter Pan', to Year 1 pupils from Buckingham Primary School at that school, and Year 5 pupils from Buckingham Primary School, Oriel Primary School, Trafalgar Junior School, Crane Park Primary School, Forge Lane Primary School, Heathfield Junior School, St Ignatius Primary School and Hampton Junior School at LEH.
