Active Service by Staff
Members of staff are involved in, and often accompany pupils on, the outreach work. In particular, 20+ staff taught on the SHINE ‘Serious Fun on Saturdays' programme.
Individual members of staff served in the following capacities during 2010-11:
- Examiners for national examination boards (eight members of staff).
- Committee member of the Joint Association of Classical Teachers' (JACT) Classical Civilization Committee and a member of the JACT Examinations Committee.
- Members of the Royal Geographical Society and the Geographical Association
- Accredited referees and qualified judges officiating at local as well as school games, including:
- National Selector of England Netball
- Head Netball Coach for Surrey Storm
- Coaching and selecting for GB Rowing
- Coaching and selecting for Middlesex Lacrosse
- Coaching and selecting Junior South U18 Lacrosse Squad
- Middlesex Lacrosse secretaries
- British School Gym Association competition organiser
- London Schools Swimming Association competition organiser
- Under 12 / 13 Middlesex Lacrosse Tournament Organiser
- Save the Children Tennis Tournament Organiser
- Richmond Borough Cross Country Girls' Team Coach
- Coaching and selecting for Netball Excel Framework
- The Head Mistress is a Governor at Queen's College, London
- The Assistant Head (Communications) is a Governor at Crane Park Junior School
- The Head of Lower School is a Governor at Buckingham Primary School
- A member of the English Department is a Community Governor at Feltham College
- The Head Mistress was President of the Girls Schools' Association from January - December 2010
- The Head Mistress is a member of the GSA/HMC Universities Committee, a committee member of the Independent Schools Travel Association, is the GSA representative on the International Confederation of Principals
- Five members of staff assist with the organisation and running of the Hampton CCF contingent
- Four members of staff are trained as school inspectors (Independent Schools Inspectorate)
- The Assistant Head (Communications) visits local partner schools regularly, working with colleagues in these schools to develop community initiatives.
- The Assistant Head (Communications) works pro bono for the school's SHINE project
- Staff direct and participate in local music and amateur dramatic groups.
