Our Aims

One of the earliest documents about The Lady Eleanor Holles School states that its aim is "to produce young women of grace and integrity". The present school continues to subscribe to that intention, and it is fundamental to our ethos.

Our Pupils

In the Library
In the Library
The school educates approximately 860 girls aged seven to eighteen, with around 180 in the Junior Department and 680 in the Senior Department. They come to us from a very wide catchment area, from as far north as Ealing, as far south as Cobham, as far east as Chelsea and as far west as Windlesham, from many different maintained and independent schools.

Our History
The School Crest
The School Crest
The Lady Eleanor Holles School is proud to be one of the oldest girls’ schools in the country, and at the forefront of girls’ education. It was established in 1711, when a trust for its endowment as a Christian foundation was created under the will of Lady Eleanor Holles, daughter of the second Earl of Clare. First located in the Cripplegate Ward of the City of London, a plaque on one of the Barbican walkways marks its original site. The school went on to occupy other premises in the City until 1878, when it moved to Hackney. Our current premises in Hampton were purpose built, and were opened in 1935 by HRH Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester.
Our Facilities
Inside the school
Inside the school
The school stands on a wonderful thirty acre site, its buildings surrounded by gardens and playing fields. This spacious environment allows a great range of outdoor sporting activities, and has also enabled us to build numerous extensions to enhance our facilities and the curriculum we offer.

Our Community Links

The school is committed to foster close ties with the local area and members of the community are regularly invited to attend music and drama events at the school.

The school is also active in promoting good citizenship, and to that end, Service Volunteers organise a number of activities each year, including the Christmas Party for over 200 residents of local care homes.
