Duke of Edinburgh Expedition

During the weekend of the 21st and 22nd June, 54 four girls in the Lower Fifth completed their assessed Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition in the Surrey Hills.

The weather looked a little shaky on Saturday, but thankfully the rain generally held off until about midnight on Saturday night.  The girls were congratulated on their camp craft and morale and the evening’s activities got off to a great start with three huge birthday cakes.

On Sunday morning, the girls were raring to go and had had eaten, packed up and scrubbed their trangias and tent pegs by 8:15am!  According to the assessors, this was an all time record!

The teams trickled in to the end point from about 1pm and although very tired were in excellent spirits.  Indeed, all girls should be commended for the positive attitudes and teamwork they displayed throughout the whole weekend.  Well done to all those involved.
