Congratulations to Suzie Zitter who has been selected for the British Junior Competition Climbing Team 2008, after impressing the selectors in the team trials. These competitions take place on steep overhanging walls, with the climber clipping into protection on the wall as they climb. A typical British competition wall would be 14 metres high and 7 metres overhanging!
Suzie who is in the Lower Fifth has been climbing for 5 years and is aiming to compete in Europe. She trains at the Westway Climbing Centre in London three times per week and is hoping to increase her difficulty level by 1.5 grades in the next year. Good luck Suzie.
