The 2008 Music Competition involved a dazzling three days of music, with over 200 individual performances in 21 different classes. Ranging from rock bands to the most demanding classical repertoire, this really was a celebration of the superb standard of music at LEH.
Classes including Strings, Woodwind, Brass, Vocal, Percussion, Composition and all styles of ensemble were judged with insightful and encouraging comments by the renowned conductor Dr James Ross.
Seven girls were chosen for the Final and, following a mesmerizing and hard-fought contest the winner was violinist Emma Lisney who played the second movement of Aus der Heimat by Smetana and the runner-up was Rosie Duckworth who played the first movement of Weber’s Clarinet Concerto.
